DAY13/13. As a team, we were germ-y, yet dedicated and made every effort to be present. We’ve physically done a lot, we traveled literally thousands of miles, and we experienced memorable moments individually and collectively. One of the most amazing things about this trip is the number of meals (20+) we were able to share as a team, gathered together by God’s grace, love and mercy. Thank you Team 2020 for making this STM trip what it was, and for always being down for rooftop coffee with a view during our early morning free time. Until next time, Guatemala. 💕🇬🇹

DAY11/13. I got to meet Tomas Gomez, author of Escaping the Fire. The book is based on his real experiences of how he as an Ixil Mayan pastor led his people out of a Holocaust during the Guatemalan Civil War. It was a privilege to meet him, his wife and family in Nebaj. He has done so much for people including translating the Bible to the local language, building a feeding center that turned into a hospital, leading others to faith - all done with immense faith in the Lord. Read the book!! #guatemala

DAY10/13. In Nebaj, we joined the Teacher’s Conference focused on the topic of Integrity. Ivan, Melissa and Stanley gave great testimonies of how God has been working in their lives in relations to work/career. After exploring nearby tiendas and getting ice cream, we returned back for the soccer tournament. Although our team lost, I think the team played considerably well for not having prior experience of playing together.. and did amazing by scoring a goal against the champs! We visited a hospital and saw the need for medical care and facilities. Praying we will continue to see God’s plans unfold and for us to be obedient to following where He calls us to be involved. . . DAY9/13. Today we left Chel early in the morning and rode in a bus to Nebaj. We arrived at our hotel with a water slide nearby, ate lunch and headed to a town about an hour away for our last day of Children’s program. #guatemala #stm . . DAY8/13. Hola! The kids love Leó the León. Our prayer is that seeds have been planted in these kids’ hearts to know and walk with the Lord for the rest of their lives. #guatemala #stm
