Last year in November, I convinced Phil to run with me! I know what you’re probably thinking, no, I didn’t force him. 😉 But if he’s only going to run 1 half marathon ever, I definitely wanted it to be us running in Disney together! I had so much fun, despite the really early mornings, 3:45am!! Yeah, us runners are crazy. But the feeling you get crossing the finish line and knowing that a medal is waiting for you kind of makes it all worth it. And if you didn’t know already, I love Disney. There’s nothing like being in a magical place celebrating love, life, and amazing friends (Tiffany and Karla – we’re so happy they drove to Orlando to hang out with us)!
Day 1 // ESPN Wide World Of Sports Complex + Expo, Twin Peaks
Day 2 //
Mickey’s Holiday 5K (Animal Kingdom)
A delicious breakfast buffet of Micky waffles is extra ‘rewarding’ after a run!
Day 3 //
Wine & Dine 10K (Epcot)
Magical Moment – Phil was given a free cupcake when he got his order. “5, 6, 7, 8.. You just got a magic tray!”
Day 4 //
Wine & Dine Half Marathon (Animal Kingdom + Epcot)
Post-race Party (Epcot Food & Wine Festival)
Day 5 // Sofrito Latin Cafe, Twin Peaks
I am so proud of him. Not only did he run 16.3 miles, he didn’t complain at all and he kept a smile on the whole way even through the long horrible stretches of uphill ramps. By the way, 1. We didn’t get carted by the pickup bus!!! (This was one of our 2 goals, the other being to finish the run). 2. He dressed up as Aladdin because I said I wanted to be Jasmine. 🙂
*Watch in HD.
Nothing like celebrating 4 hard earned medals and 4 years of #phavah all in the same weekend. I had a blast and I hope to do another disneyRun before 2020! Anybody want to run with me?
